TOP STORY: Best Bets for Flying to Europe Cheap

Currently, we are living on the southern coast of Spain and let me just say- I think I’m living the life I’m actually meant to be living. How special to be able to say such a thing.

While we aren’t settling here permanently, we had the opportunity to settle in a town in Costa del Sol to participate in a world school program called Boundless Life. So while our kids are in school, Geo and I are finding a balance between work and play.

Because life in Europe is just the sweetest life, I’ve put together a list of the airline’s that you should look at first if you’re looking to fly here for a summer vacation (which I think you should). These carriers have some of the best and most consistent redemptions I’ve seen, ever.

KLM/AirFrance

  • If you’ve been with me a while you know I regularly book on KLM/AirFrance when heading over the Atlantic and this is for a couple reasons:

    • They often run low fare prices, in fact each month they come out with Flying Blue Promo Rewards highlighting ultra low fares from different cities in the US to Europe

    • They offer 25% discount on all reward seats for children 2-11 years old

    • Take a look at the July calendar:

So much availability!

Virgin Air

  • Last year Virgin switched to dynamic pricing leaving tons of availability to the UK for CHEAP. Take a look at the Virgin Reward Seat Checker

6K points is incredibly cheap to get to Europe, folks

British Air and Iberia Air

  • These 2 I placed together because both airlines accept Avios points and both have awesome opportunities to get to Europe for 20k points

  • We flew BA to our home base here in Spain for 25k points/ ticket and $400 in taxes and fees

I know what you’re thinking- ‘how do I know what points I can transfer?’

I’m always here for you→

Pro tip → As you see, Iberia Air doesn’t accept miles from Cap One, but you can transfer your miles to British Air and then from BA, transfer Iberia. You’re welcome 😉

Ready to open one (or 2) highly transferable bank cards? Here’s my list of top card!

  • If you’re interested in Chase cards, just email me- I’d appreciate your support in using my personal link. Unfortunately bank rules prevent me from listing them on my top card list, but I do recommend them!
